California State Science Fair

The California State Science Fair is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout the State of California in grades 6 - 12, serving California's future scientists since 1952. It is hosted by the California Science Center (formerly, the California Museum of Science and Industry).

The 57th annual California State Science Fair was held on May 19-20, 2008. This year we had 953 participants from 359 schools throughout the State meeting in competition for awards totaling over $60,000.

We are deeply grateful to our Presenting Benefactor, the Northrop Grumman Foundation, for providing essential funding to make possible the 2008 California State Science Fair. Special thanks also go to THE MUSES of the California Science Center Foundation and to ITT Corporation for their generous donations and volunteer efforts.

Latest News from the Fair:

Surveys Distributed: All 2008 participants and judges were sent a survey of their experiences so that we may improve next year's Fair. If you have not received your survey, please tell us to resend it.
Awards and Medallions Sent: All awards, both money and medallions, should have been received. If you have not received an award due to you, please let us know immediately.
Portraits Posted (July 12): Portraits of all participants have now been posted. Many more photos to come.
All Awards Photographs Posted (June 15): All of the photographs from the Awards Ceremony stage, as well as all of the Recognition Awards presentations, are now available.
Judging Results (May 20): All judging results including Major Fair Awards, all Category Awards, and all Special and Recognition Awards.

The 2009 Fair will be held on May 18-19, 2009. That's only 180 days away!
