E-Corps Intern Program
NBC Universal has partnered with the California Science Center in order to provide an opportunity for local high school students to contribute to the upcoming World of Ecology gallery, opening in 2009. Science Center education staff will be assisting these young interns in creating floor programs for the World of Ecology.
The Goals of the Program are:
-
Learn the process of creating floor programs and why they are beneficial
-
Understand the importance of working in a team
-
Learn about Ecology while creating new floor programs (demonstrations and presentations for guests).
The youths will participate in ecology demonstrations, group investigations, guided discussions, and observation recordings, along with an educational field trip. The team will then be involved in the development and prototyping of ecology-themed floor programs. Finally, the students will work in teams to engage the public in existing floor programs and demonstrate the new ecology floor programs they have developed.
