General Information

The Big Lab and Discovery Lab classrooms are located in the Wallis Annenberg Building for Science Learning and Innovation on the campus of the California Science Center. Please try to arrive at the Science Center 15 minutes prior to the start of your first session. The Wallis Annenberg Building is approximately a 5 minute walk from the main building of the Science Center.

Each Big Lab session lasts 75 minutes and can accommodate up to 40 students. Discovery Lab programs last 60 minutes and can accommodate up to 25 students. Each program focuses on a science concept that is appropriate to your grade.

Programs are offered at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Cost

$8 per student per session. Adults are free.

$25 non-refundable deposit due 30 days prior to your scheduled program date. The deposit is applicable to the total program fee. The balance of your payment is due on your scheduled program date. A final headcount should be given 7 days prior to your visit.

Check, credit card (AMEX, MC, Visa, or JCB), cash, or purchase order are our accepted forms of payment.

Policies

Minimum of 20 students, maximum of 40 students per session for the Big Lab.

Minimum of 15 students, maximum of 25 students for Discovery Lab programs.

All programs must be rescheduled one week prior to the original date. Rescheduling is based upon availability.

To cancel a program you must call (213) 744-2019 at least one week prior to your scheduled program date. Program fees paid in-full will be refunded (less the deposit fee). Without above notice of cancellation, your group will be charged the cost of the scheduled program.

Weather Policy - The Big Lab is a partially open-aired facility and subject to changes in weather conditions. In the event that weather prevents programming in the Big Lab, the group will be moved to adjacent classroom facilities.
