Focus on the science behind chemistry at our fall Girl Scout programs. Brownie Girl Scouts will complete the requirements for the Science Wonders try-it and Junior Girl Scouts will discover how chemistry and engineering are related as they complete the Making It Matter badge.

Junior Girl Scouts: Making It Matter
Making a Polymer - Learn polymer basics as you make putty.
Polymer Possibilities - Experiment with making different polymers.
Making Connections - Create an electrical circuit.
Moving Parts - Find out why bearings help make machines work.
Materials and Structures - Design your own structure.

Ecology is a hot topic this spring at the California Science Center! Girls will have the opportunity to work on nature and ecology-related badges during the Spring 2010 Girl Scout Days. Check back for more registration and badge information.

Interest Projects for Girls 11 - 17

Museum Discovery
Space is limited - please call 213-744-7444 to confirm availability of dates prior to sending in a registration form.
Full completion of this interest project requires 2 days, one of which would be either November 7 or November 21, 2009 to complete the service project portion of the interest project. Girls must be available to come to the California Science Center on a weekday prior to this date for a 2 hour session to work on the rest of the requirements.
Girls will complete most of the requirements during the pre-arranged 2 hour session.
The Service Project activity will be completed on either November 7 or November 21, 2009 as the girls guide younger Girl Scouts through an activity on one of their badge days.
Girls are expected to work on and practice what they will say to the younger scouts in between their visits to the Science Center.
Cost: $15 per girl, includes both days
