Scout Days

Complete badge requirements in and around the Big Lab! During a three hour session, scouts will be guided through the requirements for completing badges. Each session will utilize one or more of the specialized platforms in the Big Lab.

Morning Sessions are 9 AM - 12 PM
Afternoon Sessions are 1 - 4 PM

Cost: $15 per scout per session, adults are free

Ratio: At least 1 adult must accompany every 10 scouts

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the Big Lab?
The Big Lab is located on the campus of the California Science Center, in the Wallis Annenberg Building for Science Learning and Innovation. It is about a two minute walk from the main building of the Science Center, next to the Air and Space Gallery.

How many adults may come with the scouts?
There is no limit as to the number of adults that accompany the scouts to the program. Adults are free. In the case of classrooms becoming too crowded, adults may be asked to wait in the Big Lab for the duration of that particular activity.

Do we need to bring anything?
No, everything needed to complete to the requirements will be provided.

Will badges be given out after completing the session?
No. Badges will need to be ordered through the scout organizations.

How much is parking ?
Parking in Exposition Park is $6 per car. Limited street parking is available around the park.

What can siblings or other family members do when the scouts are in the Big Lab?
The California Science Center will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. As long as there is an adult to accompany any children, they are free to visit the main part of the museum.

Will a snack be provided?
No snacks will be provided, but scouts are free to bring their own snack.
