Workshop
Information for Parents and Community Educators
Participate in a series of hands-on inquiry based workshop designed to provide parents and community educators with opportunities to learn science! Activities will reinforce scientific and mathematical concepts using every day objects that can be found at home!
In addition, you will receive materials to use with your children. Class size is limited.
Registration Fee : $25.00 per session
Course Times: 9 am - 12 pm

Learning science can happen anywhere…even in a sandbox! Experience activities for that will enhance science learning through open ended science experiences. Receive materials to use with your children that will stimulate the brain and promote a curiosity for learning.

July 23, 2008
Explore simple science experiments and activities that will introduce children to the scientific process and show how naturally and easily children can learn science. It’s never too early to start thinking about science fair projects!

Science concepts are embedded in things children do everyday. This will workshop will help parents teach children science concepts with simple, easy to do activities that do not require much time to get together.

Examine the role of play in the learning process! Explore games that will promote student success! In this workshop participants will engage in a series of activities that will highlight ways to look for toys that help children observe things carefully, identify how things work and what they are made of and experiment to discover patterns, relationships, sequence and reactions.

Science is not just a subject learned in school! This workshop will help parents develop the natural scientist in every child, and provide hands-on activities that will stimulate curiosity and explore the role science plays in daily life.

Experience Math games and strategies that will enhance student achievement! This workshop will explore ways to help children learn complex math concepts through simple and fun activities and easy to find materials.

“Why did that happen?” “ How does that work?” “ What will happen if…?” Children ask questions about the world around them and are filled with curiosity and the desire to learn. This workshop will help parents teach children about the world using hands-on experiments with topics such as plants, air and water.
