How do I get to the California Science Center?

Who will be teaching the camp classes?
Our instructors all have backgrounds in either science or education. Instructors for the spring break camp will be comprised of either Science Center education staff or instructors from Hands-On Summer Camp.
Can I pick up my child early from camp?
Yes. Please inform the instructor that you will be picking up the child early when you drop him/her off in the morning. The instructor will inform you where the class will be during that time.
Is Exposition Park safe for my child to walk around?
Yes, classes will be accompanied by at least two education staff members when they are in public areas. Morning activities and lunch will be held in the Wallis Annenberg Building. In addition, public safety officers are on-site to ensure the well-being of visitors to all Exposition Park facilities, including Science Center camp students.
What should my child bring and wear?
Students should bring a lunch and any snacks they may need during the day. All supplies will be provided. Classes may be messy - students should wear comfortable clothing that can get messy. We strongly encourage students to leave any electronic devices at home (Nintendo DS, iPods, cell phones, etc.). The California Science Center is not responsible for any electronic devices that are lost or stolen.
How many students will be in each class?
There will be approximately 20 students per class, an instructor and an assistant.
Can I sit in and observe my child in class?
Camp classes are designed to foster in dependant learning and socializing. Children being enrolled in camp classes should be comfortable in a kids-only class.
What should I do if the instructor should take special considerations with my child (food allergies, medical information, etc.)?
Please make sure to fill out any applicable medical information on the registration form. If you have specific concerns, please make the instructor aware on the first day of camp.
Why are classes in the Wallis Annenberg Building and not the Science Center?
The Wallis Annenberg Building is the California Science Center's educational facility and houses our classroom spaces and lab equipment. Each day during the camp, students will travel to either the California Science Center or the Natural History Museum for the afternoon portion of the class.
