General Information
Spring Camp takes place in and around the Wallis Annenberg Building for Science Learning and Innovation which houses cutting-edge classrooms and labs. Campers will also spend part of each day exploring one of the museums in Exposition Park.
Camp is available for students in Grades K-5. The program is from 9 AM - 3 PM.
Cost
$290 for non-members
$250 for members

Schedule of Topics for Spring Camp 2010
Monday: Water Adventures
Investigate the different properties of water and how important it is to different plants and animals. Students will also see an IMAX film.
Tuesday: What’s the Matter?
Is it a solid, liquid or gas? See how you can use chemistry to change things from one state of matter to another and then experience Radical Reactions – our live chemistry demonstration!
Wednesday: Masters of Disaster
From tornados to earthquakes, explore the science behind natural disasters. Then get the chance to view our new Ecosystems exhibits!
Thursday: Micro Science
Bigger is not always better! Discover how nanotechnology is changing the world of science by working on a small scale. Students will participate in a variety of activities developed by the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network.
Friday: Scrubs Science
Get your scalpel ready as you explore anatomy and biology. Discover what our bodies have in common with other animals. Older students will take part in a dissection activity.

Extended
Day Program
Campers may sign up for the Extended Day Program. The
program also allows children to stay 2 hours after class
ends (from 3 PM - 5 PM). The Extended Day Program includes
creative, fun group activities led and supervised by
Science Center educators.

Confirmation
Letter
A confirmation letter will be emailed to you within two
weeks of receiving your completed registration and payment.
Please bring the confirmation letter with you each day
of class for free 15-minute parking (see Camp Check-In section
below).

Policies
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made two weeks in advance. No
cash refunds will be issued. A class credit voucher
(minus a $20 cancellation fee) will be awarded. The voucher can be used for any future camp programs. In
the event that a class is cancelled by the California
Science Center, we will refund your money.
Snacks
and Lunch
Lunch will not be provided by the California Science Center. Campers must bring their own lunch each day. Campers will not be able to buy individual snacks or
lunches from Science Center restaurants. Lunch breaks are supervised by Science Center
educators.
Camp
Check-In
All campers must check in and out with a parent or guardian
daily. Any pick-up or drop-off changes
should be turned in at that time.
Pick-Up
A parent or legal guardian must pick up children at the
end of each program. Children will not be allowed to
meet parents outside of the pick-up area. To ensure
the safety of campers, we require advance written
notice when anyone other than a parent or legal guardian
will be picking up campers after the programs.
Parking
Please bring your confirmation letter with you each day
of class. It will allow you free 15-minute parking
for drop-off. Parents wishing to stay
on site must pay the $8 daily parking fee.
