Have you ever wondered why it’s spelled “Endeavour” and not “Endeavor”? Take a journey with us from beginning to end and learn about Endeavour’s 26 missions. By the end of this class, you will know all the ins and outs of the newest addition to the California Science Center. All campers will visit the Samuel Oschin Space Shuttle Endeavour Display Pavilion.

What do humans need to survive in the alien environment of space? How does the body respond to the bizarre conditions outside our atmosphere? Explore the problems faced by NASA scientists and astronauts trying to create a livable world far from our planet. This class is taught by the California Science Center Aerospace Curator and Science Center Educators.

in Motion
Gravity—it’s not just a good idea, it’s the law! Learn about today’s movers and shakers as you study Newton’s laws of motion. Our tools for this adventure will include rockets, tennis ball launchers, our 3-story drop tower and other elements of the Big Lab. Finally, launch a rocket on the last day of class!

Full Day! The Science of 3-D Animation 101
Explore the science of 3D animation! You will learn all about animation principles and techniques, as well as how to create your own animated film. Each participant will get to take home their own DVD of the work they complete in class. The final day will feature a film festival and premiere party for you to invite your own guests!

Full Day! The Science of 3-D Animation 102 *
Continue exploring the world of 3D animation and focus on advanced techniques including character modeling, keyframe animation techniques, and advanced sound. Students will have the chance to work on one longer film project to be screened on the final day of class in a film festival for parents and family members!
*Prerequisite: Students must complete The Science of 3D Animation 101 before taking this class. Students will not be able to enroll in this class if they have not taken The Science of 3D Animation 101 within the last year.
