7th & 8th Grade Programs

Get a taste of robotics as you design your own submarine ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle). Explore the inner workings of different machines to prepare for the final design. If you can handle the “pressure” then join us as we create fun submarines to help us explore the ocean floor!

Who needs lab rats when you can use robots? Design and build an independent robot that can navigate its way through a maze of your design by using its own senses. Watch as your robots perform a dance you choreograph just for them. Now if you could only teach it to clean your room!

Carve out time this summer to explore the mechanics of skating. Put your “goofy foot” forward as you dissect ollies, vert skating and all the other physics of fun on wheels. Engineering will be highlighted as participants design, build, and decorate their own customized skateboard that will be theirs to keep.

Continue exploring the world of 3D animation and focus on advanced techniques including character modeling, keyframe animation techniques and advanced lighting. Students will have the chance to work on one longer film project to be screened on the final day of class in a film festival for parents and family members!

*Prerequisite - Students must take The Science of 3D Animation 101 before taking this class. Students will not be able to take this class if they have not taken The Science of 3D Animation 101 (formerly known as The Science of 3D Animation) within the last year. This class is also available to 5th and 6th graders.
