Registration

Please do not send duplicate registration forms.
*There is a $25 service charge on all returned checks.

Confirmation Letter
A confirmation letter will be mailed to you within two weeks of receiving your completed registration and payment. Please bring the confirmation letter with you each day of class for free 15-minute parking (see Parking section below).

Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to qualifying families, generously provided by THE MUSES of the California Science Center Foundation, the Ibrahim El-Hefni Technical Training Foundation and the Sidney Stern Memorial Trust. Call (213) 744- 7444 for information.

Class Availability
Classes labeled "" have spaces available as of the most recent update of this site. Classes labeled "" have no more general registration spaces available. Waiting lists are available for all full classes. To be placed on the waiting list, complete and submit the registration form as described above. Be sure to include full payment and indicate that you wish to be placed on the waiting list. In order to facilitate payment processing, if you are paying by check, please submit separate checks for waiting list classes. You will be notified if a space becomes available for you. Your payment will not be processed until you have been placed in the class.

Class Changes
Class changes must be made four weeks in advance. Changes cost $25 per class and depend upon availability. There is no guarantee that space will be available in another class and no cash refunds will be given, so please plan carefully before registering.

Cancellations
Full refunds are permitted up to 30 days prior to the start of your camp session; a $25 processing fee will be subtracted from your refund. There are no refunds or credits 30 days prior to camp. If you do not receive a confirmation, please call 213-744-7444. In the event that a class is cancelled by the California Science Center, we will make arrangements for your child to enroll in another class or refund your money.

Extended Day Program
For Kindergarten - 8th Grade Campers
Campers taking a full-day class or both morning and afternoon classes can sign up for the Extended Day Program. This program allows you to drop off your children from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. (one hour before the morning class begins). The program also allows children to stay 2 hours after class ends (from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.).  Your child must be signed up for a full week of classes to be eligible for Extended Day. The Extended Day Program includes creative, fun group activities led and supervised by Science Center educators. Snacks for the afternoon will be provided. You must register for the entire week - no single days are offered.

Fee per week (for one child): $65 members / $75 non-members

Snacks and Lunch
Lunch will not be provided by the Hands-On Summer Camp. Campers must bring their own lunch if they are enrolled in two half-day classes or a full day class. Campers will not be able to buy individual snacks or lunches from Science Center restaurants. Lunch breaks are supervised by Science Center educators.

If your child is enrolled in a half-day class, it is recommended that you pack a light snack.

Camp Check-In
All campers must check in and out with a parent or guardian daily. Any pick-up or drop-off changes should be turned in at that time.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off
A parent or legal guardian must pick up children at the end of a program. Children will not be allowed to meet parents outside of the pick-up area. To ensure the safety of campers, we require advance written notice when anyone other than a parent or legal guardian will be picking up campers after the programs.

Parking
Please bring your confirmation letter with you each day of class. It will allow you free 15-minute parking for pick-up and drop-off. Parents wishing to stay on site must pay the daily parking fee. Beginning July 1, 2011 the daily parking fee will be $10 per car. (Parents in Little Learner courses may park for the day free of charge.)
