Summer Camp KidsExciting explorations, delightful discoveries and wild wonders await your family this summer at Hands-On Science Camp at the California Science Center. We offer more than 30 courses, including popular parent-and-child classes that give families a chance to investigate science together. The Hands-On Science Camp staff consists of education professionals and working professionals in science fields. Your child will have a unique, fun and engaging summer!

Registration and Parent Information

Confirmation Letter
A confirmation letter will be mailed to you within two weeks of receiving your completed registration and payment. Please bring with you each day of class for free 15-minute parking during pick-up and drop-off.

Extended Care
Campers taking a full-day class or both morning and afternoon classes can sign up for the Extended Day Program. This program allows you to drop off your child at 8 am (one hour before class begins) and pick them up at 5 pm (two hours after the afternoon or full-day class ends).

Combining Half-Day Programs to Create a Full-Day
Two half-day programs can be combined to create a full-day. A supervised lunch period is included when purchasing a morning and afternoon class. Lunch will not be provided by the California Science Center Foundation. Campers must bring their own lunch for all day classes. Snacks and water are recommended.

Cancellation Policy
Refunds are permitted up to 30 days prior to the start of your Camp session. A $25 processing fee will be subtracted from the refund. There are no refunds or credits within 30 days prior to Camp. If you do not receive a confirmation letter, please call (213) 744-7444. In the event that a class is cancelled by the California Science Center Foundation, we will make arrangements for your child to enroll in another class or refund your money.

Class changes must be made 30 days in advance. A $25 processing fee will be charged for each change made to your reservation. There is no guarantee that space will be available in another class and no cash refunds will be given, so please plan carefully before registering.

Camp Location
Hands-On Science Camp takes place in and around the Wallis Annenberg Building for Science Learning and Innovation which houses cutting-edge classrooms and labs. Campers will have access to a modern environment that include the Big Lab, a 32,000 sq. ft. space containing large-scale experiment platforms designed for hands-on investigation.

Snacks and Lunch
Lunch will not be provided by the California Science Center Foundation. Campers must bring their own lunches for full-day classes. Snacks and water are recommended. Campers will not be allowed to purchase lunch in or around the Science Center. During lunch time, campers will be supervised by Camp staff, and then taken to their next class. Parents do not need to pick up their child for lunch if their child is attending camp for a full day.
