First chimpanzee ever to ride in a rocket is given a post-flight physical check by doctors after being brought aboard the U.S.S. Donner. The chimp named Ham appears to be in fine shape after a 5,000 mile-an-hour ride, 155 miles high. The Mercury-Redstone 2 launch was one of a series of NASA launches in the manned orbital flight program.
