At the California Science Center, our Worlds are expanding as the Phase 2 project gets underway. As part of Phase 2, we'll be building the World of Ecology, a new exhibit pavilion that will become home for over 150 live animal species, live plants and recreated environments from the desert to the sea.

The World of Ecology will contain over 175 new hands-on exhibits to invite you to explore amazing ecosystems from around the world. You'll be able to:

Peer out into the tops of live trees in the rain forest.
Walk through a kelp forest to experience the beauty beneath the ocean's waves.
Feel the spray of water from a desert flash flood.
Observe live animals from a scientist's point of view.

World of Ecology is scheduled to open in 2009.

In addition, we'll also be expanding the World of Life exhibit gallery and the Weingart Special Exhibits Gallery, as well as adding more office and storage space--all as part of Phase 2.
