Wild
Safari Family Event – June 26, 2005, 12 to
4 pm. Free activities, giveaways, games, and a showcase
of live animals native to Africa highlight the opening
weekend of the new IMAX film Wild Safari 3D:
A South African Adventure. If you’ve
always wanted to go on safari, but never had the
chance, leave your passport at home and let the California
Science Center bring Africa to you.
Visitors
can see a full-grown lioness, courtesy of the
Wildlife
Waystation, from 12 to 2 pm. Lion handlers
will be on site to answer questions. Other live African
animals will include an African Serval, Ball Python,
Emperor Scorpion, Fennec Fox and Fat Tailed Gecko
(12 to 4 pm). Animal themed craft activities, face
painting,
and a balloon artist will be on site. |

Wild
Safari 3D: A South African Adventure takes
the audience on a three thousand mile journey in
search for Africa’s most dangerous animals.
With groundbreaking 3D technology, viewers feel
as if they are in the passenger seat of an open-air
safari vehicle, just inches away from breathtaking
wildlife. Opens June 24, 2005.

to the California Science Center and Wild Safari Family
Event is FREE. Visitors must purchase tickets for IMAX
films. IMAX ticket prices range from $4.75 to $8.00. |
California
Science Center is located at 700 State Drive-Exposition
Park, Los Angeles, CA 90037. Open daily from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s
Day. Admission to the exhibits is free. IMAX Theater tickets
range from $4.50 to $7.50. Both the Science Center and
IMAX Theater are wheelchair accessible. Visitors can enter
the parking lot at 39th and Figueroa Street. Parking is
