February

Members-Only IMAX Screening:
The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D
Thursday, February 11, 2010, 7 p.m.
IMAX Theater

Featuring nine-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater, The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D will immerse audiences in the story of an ocean wave and the lives it impacts and transforms. From astounding surfing action to the chaos of ocean storms, the film leads audiences on a quest to understand one of this planet’s most intriguing and dramatic phenomena. The action focuses on Tahiti and the volcanic islands of French Polynesia, home to some of the world’s most challenging surfing and to astounding coral reef ecosystems at the turbulent interface between island and ocean.

The film is directed by Stephen Low, who for over 25 years, has directed some of the most popular and critically acclaimed large format documentaries ever made. The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D is making its world premiere at the California Science Center.

Reservations are required and will be taken on a first-received, first-reserved basis. Due to theater capacity, reservations are limited to two adults and four children (age 17 and under) per Membership. Click here to RSVP.
