B.J. Freeman, Ph.D. is Professor Emerita of Medical Psychology at UCLA School of Medicine. She is Founder and past Director of the UCLA Autism Evaluation Clinic, and co-founder of UCLA’s Early Childhood Partial Hospitalization Program. Dr. Freeman is considered an international authority in the diagnosis, psychological assessment and treatment of children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, and has published over 100 articles in scientific journals and books in the area of autism. Since retiring from UCLA, Dr. Freeman continues to practice in the Los Angeles area. She spends much of her professional time working with families and service organizations, and consulting with school districts to develop appropriate educational programs for children with autism.
