Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative
For the last fifteen years, Kelly Sayce has worked with the private and public sector to formulate and implement effective outreach and education strategies to inspire public participation in environmental decision-making. Kelly has helped advance the building of strong inter- and intra-stakeholder partnerships worldwide, working to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding for each group’s perspective and approach to resource management. As Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative, Kelly has facilitated broad and inclusive input in the marine protected area planning process from stakeholders, the scientific community, policy makers, tribal governments, industry, the non-profit community, and the general public. Kelly has also worked with the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission, the Coastal Conservancy, and the Reef Check Foundation, and has held positions with key informal educational facilities in Southern California, including the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Kelly is also the co-founder and Principal of Strategic Earth Consulting, a woman-owned business dedicated to providing a unique balance of scientific expertise, policy knowledge and communications experience to develop practical solutions to complex environmental challenges.
