Fred Aminzadeh is a professor at the University of Southern California, Managing Director of USC Global Energy Network. He also leads USC Induced Seismicity Consortium. Among his current research interests are: reservoir characterization and monitoring, geothermal energy, smart oil fields and unconventional resources. He served as the president of Society of Exploration Geophysicists (2007-2008). He was also CEO of Americas. His Unocal positions included geophysicist, supervisor of seismic methods and manager of geophysics. He has served as an advisor to LBNL, LLNL, ORNL and LANL. He was member of U.S. National Research Council’s Committee on Seismology and the DOE’s Unconventional Resource Technology Advisory Committee (URTAC). He is a memebr of Russina Academy of Natural Scences and Azerbaijan Oil Academy. He has 3 US patents, authored 12 books and over 350 papers. He received the SPE 2011 Western North America Regional Award for Reservoir Description and Dynamic and its 2012 Educator of the Year award. He has a Ph.D. degree from USC.
