Joyce Weitzberg, RN
Retired nurse and former medical marijuana dispensary director
Joyce Weitzberg, RN, is a 63 year old retired registered nurse and
graduate of Lienhard School of Nursing at Pace University, Westchester,
N.Y. She has actively pursued alternative and natural health
solutions for over 30 years.
Joyce was forced to retire two years ago due to her own health issues.
Unable to tolerate pharmaceuticals herself she was prescribed medical
marijuana for severe musculoskeletal deterioration.
In addition to the above mentioned condition, Joyce also suffers from
auto-immune disease associated with rheumatoid arthritis and three
serious lung diseases. She controls all of her conditions with forms
of cannabis.
From 2009-2012 Joyce was the director of Nutritional Concepts Pain
Releaf Center, a medical marijuana collective in the City of Costa Mesa,
California. During this period she successfully treated hundreds of
patients with medical marijuana for numerous conditions.
Although her collective opened with permission of the California Secretary
of State and followed California State Law, her collective was ordered
closed by the U.S Department of Justice on Jan 31, 2012.
She continues to study cannabis as medicine and has become an expert
in identifying the strains that achieve the best relief of patients'
symptoms.
She is currently working with a chemist in Sacramento to identify and
manipulate the terpenes in cannabinoids to intensify their medicinal
effects.
Joyce continues to lobby for safe access and is a member of OCNORML
Women's Alliance, Save Cannabis Now, and LEAP (law enforcement against
prohibition).
