Nadereh Pourat, Ph.D.

Associate professor of health services at the UCLA School of Public Health and the director of research planning at the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research

Dr. Pourat conducts research on assessing disparities in access to care of underserved populations. Given this focus, Dr. Pourat has studied disparities in outcomes of disease management, implementation of medical home, access to care of low-income uninsured, and access to oral health care. She has also examined disparities in access to breast and cervical cancer screening among Asian Americans, access to care of undocumented and other immigrants, and studying the impact of various forms of health insurance on access. In a number of projects, Dr. Pourat is examining the delivery of high quality health care using extensive electronic health data and the importance of such data on implementation of recent initiatives designed to improve quality of care in public and private settings.
